Troubles importing hands

Postby Dirkvanb » Sat Jun 14, 2008 5:37 pm

Im having the follow error message when i try to import hands automaticly:

Unable to begin feeder import process. Reason: Unable to login to database (PT3 DB). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

Anyone knows how to fix this?

i tried this :

unable to login to database (PT3_xxxx_xx_xx_xxxxxx) - reason:could not connect to server:connection refused(0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCPT/IP connection on port 5432?
First thing to try is to restart the postgres service.
Start -> Programs -> Postgres -> Start Service.
If this doesn't help, try a reboot.

but it diddnt help..

So for this nifty error here....

Unable to begin feeder import process. Reason: Unable to login to database (PT3 DB). Reason: FATAL: database "PT3 DB" does not exist

If looks like what your telling me to do is uninstall and then reinstall PT3 ? Is there a reason for this? It has been working for a couple months now.....at least the import portion.....and then all of a sudden this? I dont see how uninstall reinstall will solve anything but I guess I will try it.

So if I do the above to I need to save my database off somewhere first or what?

Thanks......

Did you try restarting the postgres service first? Start -> Programs -> Postgres -> Start Service?
IF you had it running ok before and you didn't do anything to your postgres installation then it shouldn't need a re-install, but most of the times this has been reported and re-starting postgres hasn't helped it's been because someone has tried to uninstall/reinstall postgres.
Do you see any postgres processes if you look in Task Manager?

There should be no need to touch PT3, it's a database issue.

Before you do anything to postgres, make sure you have a backup of the database - use PGAdmin to "dump" (backup) your database.
If you have a backup of your original hand histories then you can always restore from them if necessary..

I was having the same problem with the import error. I went to start PostgreSQL service and it seemed to fix the problem.
