SD won't give you an indication of running bad as such. If you are in the middle of a downswing, and want to know this you would be better off taking a look at PokerEV. It will give you a rough guide to how you have been running in terms of EV and has a some basic stuff on "luck".

Thanks, I'll take a look. but basically I was reading a thread on downswing in limit poker on 2+2 and they were running simulations given a winrate and a SD and they showed that 300 to 500 swings are not uncommon. that's comforting But I wanted to try my own simulations with my real stats.

But I will take a look at pokerEV.

In the stats most of the players have a SD/100 of about 16 as I have too. But in the repository "Winrate confidence" every player has exactly a SD/100 in the amount of 2,5. Its always 2,5, no matter what samlplesize I use and what player or limit I analyse. Thats must be a bug? Do you have similar values?!?

I will add Winrate Confidence to my list of repository stats to check - if it is always giving the same value then it doesn't sound good..

Standard Deviation will be included as a new default stat in the Holdem Cash Sessions area in the next Beta release, which should be out within the next couple of days.
