Custom stats by position

I'm trying to create custom stats of some existing stats filtering for positions. For example, I want to use the existing 3Bet vs Steal stat but as SB vs a BTN steal. Another example would be a stat that takes the percentage of CBet flop when in position.

I read through the guides and I thought it might be easy to just duplicate the existing stats and tweaking the regex to accomplish this but it's a lot harder than expected. I'm probably missing something so wondering what I should focus on since I want to do a number of these type of custom stats for a report I want to run.

Without a specific example of what you are doing I can't see what's wrong. You need to start by duplicating columns and not the statistics. You then edit the columns and create a new custom statistic from your new custom columns - this post has an example of creating a positional version of a statistic.

I want to do a number of these type of custom stats for a report I want to run.

You can also add the 'Position' statistic to a report to break it up by position instead of creating individual custom statistics.
