Issues launching after updating

I just downloaded and installed the new update. However, every time I try and open poker tracker it doesn't load and then shows to not responding. I have tried to reinstall the update, restart and shut down my CPU nothing is working. Any thoughts? Everything was fine until the update.

Running windows 10. After download it gives me a warning that this file is not often downloaded? That I should trust it first. Then when I go to look at it in the download directory, it is not an exe file. What is going on?

There was an issue with signing the installer - it is signed by an internal signature instead of the official one, that's why there is a warning when launching it. I've informed the development team, and we'll get it updated as soon as possible. It is safe to use, however, you can also install the previous version until we update the signature. Exactly same issue. Windows 11. Download and installation went fine, it*s just that Pokertracker won't start afterwards (getting stuck at the window that OP posted in the screenshot).

Downgrading to the previous version (4.18.1) helps meanwhile.

For those of you who are experiencing a problem with PokerTracker 4 freezing at startup, please open a Support Ticket with a link to this forum thread, and attach a log file, which you can find in your C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\PokerTracker 4\Logs folder, and we will investigate the issue.

If you are downgrading to the PokerTracker4.18.1 release, it is advisable to rebuild the index, and that can be done by navigating to Database / Database Management / Housekeeping / Reindex.

Just had a look in the user data folder, and there is a bunch of logs from today with 0kb in size and empty. I assume those are the logs from my attempts to run 4.18.2 version. So it seems PT4 is not even starting properly to write anything in the log file? Argh sorry, opened the HUD log instead of PT4 log, my bad!

This is the last messages in both of the log files of my two attempts of starting the 4.18.2 version. It seems that PT4 is just getting busy updating caches? I have large databases and lots of custom stats, so this might explain it. Not sure how much time it would need to update it all.

Thank you for sharing the log. Upgrading cache functions is likely the reason for PokerTracker 4 "freezing" at startup. This could take a long time to complete in very large databases. I would suggest that you use the previous release if you intend to play, and when you won't need to use your computer for a while, install the latest release, open PokerTracker 4 and just let it be. Make sure that your machine won't go to sleep in the meantime, and the upgrade will likely complete.
