PT3 doesn't always start/Loses DB connection ALOT

The problem has arisen recently. I use the trial version. I've tried the Trial release 2 and beta 13. No help

that's the error I get. I use Windows XP Pro SP2, I just updated postgres to 8.3.3 and it didn't fix the problem. The problem is recent.. so I have no idea what triggered it. I have the same problem on my laptop. Both run XP and trial version of PT3.

Could it be some Windows security update? Since I don't use any firewall software..

localhost. And the error might appear when I'm playing and using the hud. Or then it might appear when I'm browsing my stats. So it's not related to any specific query.

On the laptop the problem is more rare.. they both have separate databases.. and both run postgre locally

Do you use any security or anti-virus software at all?

I've seen PT3 crash in all sorts of interesting and exciting ways, but I haven't run into this one. It does sound a bit like something on your system is forcing the connection between PT3 and Postgres closed.

I have avast.. no firewall software (except XP's own).

try disabling the av and try running pt & postgres in an empty m/c with no other processes for a while to see if the problem persists then.
