sounds fine so far... although I'd turn off all that "web sharing" and try without it. My first guess is XP Home is unable to prevent users from reading/writing anywhere, and "web sharing" is for network sharing (or worse, Internet sharing).

Try without. Post results :)

Well I tried to go forward on this.

for the user password, I was not sure if it meant Service user or Database user, but since we are talking about the database, that is the password I went with. Here is how it all went down.

It's fine - the command went through (nothe the last line "CREATE TABLESPACE" - Just seems to be warning about a preferred method of escaping backslashes, I only used 8.0 on Windows for my tests, I got no such warning - but I did encounter similar for escaping single-quotes in the HUD... should have known)

All has gone well so far! continue :)

excellent, thanks for letting us know :)

Josh is just providing a warning, he doesn't want the blame if ppl mess up their pokertracker DBs by playing with the command line imo.

Hello dave, i'm back.

Actual I was just joking about Josh, you guys are putting it down. I can't believe how many people you must help on a daily bases.

Well now with that said, with the new external database that I've created D:\pg_data

is this what I should be putting in to the field for the "Directory Configuration - Hand History Directory"? ( during initial configuring)

Is D:\pg_data also where I should go, after I go to PokerStars to request all my hand histories SnG's & Cash games, and paste them in this new directory. And then do a manual import?

Is this where everything is being Auto-Imported to?

Hey I can be a real idiot around computers, all I know them to be good for is porn and poker, what can I say?

Does the Processed Files stay on the C drive, or should I select the D Drive for that as well?

The hand histories and the data stored in the database are to independent things. You don't have to save or move the hand histories to your D: drive. When you import them from wherever location they are, they will be imported into you database which is located on the D drive. You can obviously move or save you handhistories on the D: drive too if you so wish, it doesn't change a thing as long as you select the appropriate folder to import from within PT3.

Yep :)

DO NOT GO NEAR the D:\pg_data folder - leave it well alone! The only thing that should be in this folder is things postgresql has put in there (random looking files with numbers for names).

But of course, make other folders "D:\HH_archive", "D:\Poker_vids" - whatever - and use those to store stuff.

I used daves method to create a new tablespace, create a database there, then imported the sql schema and all went ok. I then imported my hand histories and when it was done, the Limit column in the general and sessions tab are blank. I then created a new db from pt3 and imported the same hh's and it seems to be working percectly (it does show the limit). I did make a support ticket about this but obviously something about me manually making the db went awry. Anyway, i was wondering how i could move an existing database to the spare_disk tablespace, if possible.

Thanks

Edit: i am using beta4. i first used beta3 and got the same problem, but i redid it all using beta4, including the new schema file that came with it, and same deal.
