Missing HHs

Postby bigirwin » Sun Jul 27, 2008 9:57 am

So last week I compacted my files, as PT2 told me to do, and a bunch of my HHs disappeared in PT2. I was told by you people the only way to get them back into PT2 was to reimport them. So I spent a few hours doing that and all my hands were in PT2. A couple days later, I start getting the message that I need to compact again but I'm not going to do that because every time I do, most of my HH get wiped out of PT2 and I don't enjoy spending hours reimporting them. Then I notice that a bunch of my HH are missing in PT2 again. From the last week of May thru the start of July are gone. I didn't do anything - no changes in PT2, no compacting, nothing - and all off a sudden my HH are missing again. What's your solution to this? I have Vista. I run as administrator. The hands import into PT2 just fine. I would like an answer on this asap. Between my HUD problem that you guys can't fix and PT2 problems, I have spent a good week on on this site and still haven't gotten any good answers on anything. Some accountability and solutions on how to actually fix the problems would be nice. Thank you.

The only times I've heard of people losing hands is if they weren't running as administrator every time. Are you absolutely sure you have run the program as administrator every time as detailed here?

I have been running PT2 & HUD as admin. I am positive that I do this every time because it's one of the first responses I get every time I have a question. What I did not know is that I have to run Pokerstars as administrator too? Is this correct? Would that make a difference in this case? Also, is there anything else I can do going forward to avoid losing HHs?

Yes, it's possible that PokerStars isn't writing the hands where you think they are if you don't run it as administrator. That way the hands would never have been imported at all.

The problem wasn't that they weren't importing - they were. The problem is that they just randomly disappeared. What would cause that to happen and how can I make sure it doesn't happen again?

What version of PT2 are you using?? If it's not 2.17.02A then you need to install this patch

The hands probably never were importing if you were not using this patch.

You need to be using 2.17.02A for PokerStars. Install the patch I gave a link to in the last message.

Sorry about that. I am using that version. I have a lower case "a". Is it a different version with a capital "a"?

No, it's the same.

I don't know how else then that hands could just disappear if you are running as admin. Are you sure you don't have some filters set? Use the Remove All Filters button as detailed here
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1375

Also, go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder and click on the Compatibility Files link/button. What files are in this folder with MDB as their file extension and what are the date/times of these files?
