WhiteRider was incorrect when he suggested the problem may be with your version of Windows. PokerTracker 3 supports all versions of Windows 2000 and greater and there are no known issues with any of these specific operating systems. The problems being mentioned in this thread are unrelated to the operating system that you are using and are solely due to PostgreSQL.

I know that everything will end up being OK... PT2 was great and I know PT3 will be.

I just hope that things can be fixed quickly, cos I prefer to play with a HUD.

I just checked out your ticket and the information that David provided you is correct. Setting zero_damaged_pages = on should resolve the issue.

Using XP SP3, PostgresSQL 8.0

You will need to upgrade to at the very least, 8.2.x (latest is 8.2.9) or I recommend PostgreSQL 8.3.3.

It is impossible for us to support PostgreSQL this old and the syntax being used for the database cache does not appear to be supported in 8.0.

If you need assistance in backing up your 8.0 database, uninstalling 8.0, manually installing PostgreSQL 8.3.3, and then restoring your database please let us know and one of the PokerTracker team will gladly assist you.

Here is the FAQ for uninstalling PokerTracker 3 + PostgreSQL. Simply ignore the uninstall information for PT3 and jump right to PostgreSQL.

Best regards,

Derek

Anyone else that is experiencing problems, please submit us a log file. The two users who have sent us a log file, I have been able to direct towards a resolution. In both cases, the problem was not with PokerTracker 3 but was a PostgreSQL issue.

Sorry about using such an old version of PostgreSQL. I have been using PT for a couple years and it is what was installed when I went w/ PT2 using PostgreSQL. Between my last post and now, I have downloaded 8.3.3, backed up my DBs using PgAdmin, installed it, restored my DBs using PgAdmin and am just getting ready to try PT3 with new stuff. I'll let you know how it goes.

I wish I had seen the article Total uninstall/reinstall of pt3 first. It may have simplified things.

Well, after installing 8.8.3, I still could not get anything to work. So... I backed up my DBs, uninstalled PT3 and postgres, reinstalled postgreSQL 8.3.3 and PT3, restored my DBs and (many, many hours later), all seems to be working. Have not yet tried it out on live tables, but I think it will work. I'll let you know.

Thanks
