Beta 17

Postby daz1981 » Wed Sep 03, 2008 12:23 pm

Since having installed Beta 17 this morning i have had nothing but problems with PT3, keeps shutting itself down and when i do get it working it is very laggy when the tables pop up on poker stars.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

As mentioned in the release notes, this beta was put out earlier than planned due to the Stars update, so may have some issues.
Please enable logging, reproduce the problem by playing a few hands on a single table and submit your PokerTracker.log and PokerTrackerHUD.log files (zip/compress them first, call it logs.zip) to the
Support system , and link to this thread in the reference field of the ticket so that we can investigate.

I just downloaded beta17 and now my hud works but i have no hand history records in the system.

I guess we have to wait for another update?

Make sure you have no filters set - click "Clear".

Did you just install Beta 17 over your existing installation (as you should) or did you uninstall first?
Is it using the correct database, the same one being used previously?

Should i try uninstalling pt3 and installing it again?
Would i then lose my active database?
I just can't keep going like this it's affecting my performance it is so laggy, the poker stars table bleeps and then it takes an age for the table to pop up

There is no need to uninstall, and you should avoid this unless you need to.

Try some performance tweaking.
Have a look at:
Performance Tuning: Hard Drives
Performance Tuning PostgreSQL.
Also use the Database menu to do the 'HouseKeeping' on your database.
You may find that enabling 'enhance HUD performance' on HUD Options helps too, although it shouldn't be so necessary in Beta 16.

Three days and no reply from support, how long does it usually take?
I thought when i purchased PT3 it would be for a complete package, this is unacceptable, if i bought a new car i would not expect some of the parts to turn up at a later date yet this is how i feel PT3 has gone about things.

That depends on the problem, but you should have got an initial response at least?
You can check: My Tickets if you didn't get the email.

I installed beta 17 today and now when I turn on PT3, it says "unable to login to database (PT3DB) Reason: could not connect to server: connection refused (0x0000274DB10067) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCPIP connections on port 5432?" So what do I do now? Thanks

If it cannot connect to your database, please try to restart the database server by going to start -> programs -> postgresql -> stop service. Now go to computer -> c: -> program files -> postgresql -> 8.x (whatever version you see) -> data, and if you see a file named postmaster.pid, right click -> delete. Now go back to start -> programs -> postgresql -> start service, then try to run pt3 again.
