buying a 24 table/pt3 pc

Postby markiepooh99 » Sun Sep 07, 2008 5:36 pm

What's the minimum system requirements would you say for it to easily handle a 24tables on stars along with pt3/ahks running? it's just so laggy now on my old pc with the hud that i just want to get pc that will have no problems in the slowdown department. Thanks

AHK is simply not a viable option at this time. It will lag, even crash systems running pt3. Outside of this, I can say that any dual core intel w/a good pci-express video card, 2gigs of ram, and sata hard drive will do the trick.

I'm confused. I hear of many 24 tablers using Pokertracker/HEM software with AHKs running. Are you saying not even a powerhouse of a pc will suffice or is the software just not very compatible with AHK?

i've been playing 20+ tables w/ pt3 & ahk with no problems since last update, update cash and make sure you have "enchance hud performance" on

AHK is a scripting language, and it is not this in general that causes problems - one or two scripts have been identified which, when used at the same time as PT3, cause the system to lag. We're currently investigating how to solve this issue, but it shouldn't stop you using AHK.

can you name the other script? I am only aware of TableNavigator, and I'm still stumped why Poker Tracker 3 HUD has trouble working properly in it's presence. Another example may help find the issue.

I am glad you posted this WhiteRider, it is an important clarification to make. Prajna's post is imo at best uninformed FUD, and tilts me greatly.

The other one under investigation is BetPot.

lol, nice to find out then I guess, albeit obviously late to the party. Dunno if I should be surprised or not that this is the first I've heard about it.

That throws everything I was contemplating as a potential troublemaker out of the window, since there is very little overlap in TN / BetPot, that and the fact BetPot is essentially idle almost all the time.
