ram ram ram. U will need lot sof ram. I have a high end dual xeon system. WHich is what i would recomend. jsut get a motherboard with out fb dimm ram like supermicro x7dca-3 mobo. I have a fb dimm mobo which is actually the norm for xeons but it is slower. Much slower. I now have jsut one quad core e5450 xeon to run my ssytem and 8 gigs of ram but am soon ordering other cpu and another 8gigs of ram. Ram is key here. Everything else is important also as hard disk retrieval times and so on but only 2 gigs of ram wont do the job and 4 gigs is really borderline an u wont be able to modify sql settings really as u wont hardly have any ram to add to sql cause 4 gigs the os is probably using closer to two gigs than one gigs. U wait a few months and u will be able to get intels new system architecture with sharded memory controllers which is mroe like amd archetecture with lots of bandwidth for ram. Ram right now is really sheap also for ddr2 667. 2 gigs is like 35 dollars for amd opteron systems and 70 dollars for fb dimm intel systems.

I'm looking into buying this system from Tiger direct and upgrading ram to 8gbs. Think it is plenty?

get a quad core,, not a dual core cpu. THe amd has the best value for lower ends. The phenom x4. IF u want really something higher end intels outperform amd in most areas except for ram speed on server high end workstation systems. U look like u want a nice lower end system. GEt a quad core amd then. 250 dollars for the cpu with 2.5ghz and 4 cores and 2mb of shared memory l2 cache i think. U wont like the dual core. UR system will get bogged down and become sluggish. U need at least 4 cores. Oh yeah teh 9600 gt u probably dont really need as 7950 will do fine and is much cheaper unless u really want a higher end graphics card. THE 64bit is the right choice as 32 bit dont address memory over 3 to 3.5 gigs most of the time. Build ur own and u save alot as that is what i do when i need a new system.

I am 24 tabling with BetPot and PT3 running. Before PT3 last update I didn't have any problems, everything was running smoothly and now I can't play for more than 10min because the system blocks. If I reduce the number of tables I can play but this is reducing my winrate. Can someone help here?

Have you tried it without the betpot script? I know that makes it hard to play that many tables, but we're trying to establish whether there's a conflict with some scripts. Does it block up if you play less tables?

I haven't tried playing 24 tables without betpot script because it will be very hard and time consuming to enter bet sizes.

OK, I am Windows XP user on 1.61Ghz, 1Gb Ram, dual core AMD Turion laptop and If I try to:
1) multitable 24 tables at PokerStars with Betpot I don't have any problems - my hard drive is spinning with normal speed and you can't here it, tables are popping up smoothly, etc.
2) multitable 24 tables at PokerStars with Betpot and PT3 autoimporting (housekeeping done for the database in usage) it will last only for max 10min during which my hard drive will probably explode, after that the image freezes, you can still hear PS's sound alerts but my mouse isn't moving. To deal with this I either have to turn off the laptop or press the windowds button+D to pop up the Desktop and than again the windows button to pop up the taskbar and with right click and a lot of luck to turn off PT3 and everything starts working properly as in 1).
3) multitable up to 21 tables at PokerStars with Betpot and PT3 autoimporting (housekeeping done for the database in usage), I can do you as long as I want but my hard drive is spinning crazy and judging from the sounds you expect to it soon to explode plus there is a little obvious lag when you switch over tables.

I hope this is complete and usefull. If you wan't I can give it a try 24 tabling with PT3 and no Betpot but I am not sure how long I am going to last without tilting and quiting.

WOW what a performance I would say. This tip you give with moving the stats and PT icon away... How could you even think of such a trick. I WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU!!! ...ok, at least with the females in your team. Wow, it so fast that I now mislick and fold some small PP, lol. And I didn't thought that I will be able to write in a forum while 24 tablins with HUD but now it is perfectly ok so I am back on 24-tabling 4L. THANK YOU.
