I assume you've tried re-booting?

Have a look in the last few files in C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data\pg_log (they're dated so just pick the recent ones) and see if you can see what is stopping it running.
If you can't work anything out, right-click the files and choose 'Send To Compressed/zipped Folder', then attach the zip file to a ticket on the Support system, and link to this thread in the reference field of the ticket so that we can investigate.

Ah - that's not going to help..
That's where your databases are stored, so if that folder's missing then it won't be able to connect to any databases.
Did you delete it?

Did you have it working before?
What version of postgres do you have installed?
Did you install "PT3 with postgres" or did you install postgres manually?

as I said in my other thread posted in this forum today, latest version, lated updates for winXP and yes it worked before.
also yes I installed the correct file:
Product:PokerTracker 3 - Holdem
Comments:With PostgreSQL
Version:3.00 build 3
Release Date:September 29, 2008
Language:U.S English
File Size:29.7MB

I tried the default password
I tried editing the 'md5' to trust (both of them) and yes I did save correctly. yes I tried reloading the configuration, I tried stoping and starting the postresQL,and no I dont run vista, I have rebooted etc etc, I have done all the basic stuff, also I have searched for the postmaster file, it does not exist on my cpu, yes I searched for and within hidden files, it does not exist.
I dont have any programs that block the usage of pokertracker, I havent installed postreSQL seperatly, I have tried re-installing.
what gives?
burned trough an entire day waiting for help now =(

  1. Uninstall PostgreSQL via the Windows control panel
  2. Download and manually install PostgreSQL 8.3.4
  3. During manual installation, uncheck "Initialize database Cluster" which is not needed since your database will still be in tact
If you are still having trouble after doing the above, send me a message to request remote assistance and we'll setup a time where I can logon to your computer and directly troubleshoot/resolve the issue.

Best regards,

Derek
