Use seperate drive for DB on fresh install

Postby rjbrown1965 » Fri Oct 03, 2008 4:56 pm

Hi,

I am having serious speed issues so I have bought a couple of nice, new, fast hard drives :)

I am going to fit one as my C drive where I will put my Windows XP and the other drive (D) will be used only for my database.

Before I download the latest version of PTto re-install on my system how exactly do I set up the database on the D drive instead of the C drive during the install, or do I download PT without SQL and download SQL and set that up on the D drive as a seperate operation?

Loads of answers that are easy to understand would be appreciated

TIA

Have a look at the Database / Postgres FAQ - there are a few links in there which should help.
