Patch coming for Full Tilt "Matrix" update?

Postby darthbubba » Tue Oct 14, 2008 11:59 pm

I just tried out one of the new "Matrix" sit-n-go's on FTP, and PT2 had kittens trying to import the hand history. Is a patch in the works?

I cant get any import for normal SNGs either, I got a note saying they "are converting your notes to a new format", could this have impacted the import in any way?

Tried to import on a 100+9 SNG but PokerAceHud did not show any new stats for players I looked at

Had kittens??? It would help if you were a bit more specific than this, like telling me if it gave any errors and what those errors were. And if it's giving errors, post a couple hand histories so I can see what they look like.

Here's an excerpt of PT2 errors.
PT Error Logs - exported: 10/15/2008 09:54 AM
Database: PT2 SQL Database 2

# of errors: 393

Error #1
Date written: 10/15/2008 09:54:00 AM - From/Version: AutoFTP (2.17.03b)
File name: D:\Games\Poker\Full Tilt\HandHistory\Darth Bubba\101420082254154_FT20081014 $5 + $0.50 Matrix 4x Sit & Go (64620912), Match 4 - 15-30 - No Limit Hold'em.txt
Error Msg: Unable to get the table name for tournament game # 8492051521

All the rest of the log is the same, only the game number is different.

I sent a zipped copy of the error log and a sample HH file to support, the ticket # is 36582.

There is no table name listed in the hand history at all. I'll have to use something else, I guess the match number in place of the table name. I'll work on getting a patch out.

Thanks for the quick response! Support for this program really is second to none. :)

Unfortunately, I foresee a headache ahead in defining a format for these new Matrix tournaments. I think a new table type may need to be defined for them, since otherwise it's going to be problematic getting these tourney results to reflect things like ROI properly. (Can you say "Square peg, round hole?") :)

Pat, I'd love to hear your thoughts...

I don't know how these tournaments work, please explain. Also, you can create your own tourney types using the Utilities > Customize Tournament Descriptions/Types window.

I've set that up, but I fear more work will have to be done...

Here's a link to FTP's page describing these tournaments: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/matrix-tournaments

In a nutshell, you sign up for these like other SnG's. When play starts, you are seated at four different tables, with the exact same eight other players:

(I've removed other player names.)

Play then proceeds normally, just like you were multi-tabling four different SnG's. Each of the four tables is vying for 1/5 of the prize pool, with 1st thru 3rd paid just like in a normal SnG. The final 20% of the prize pool is for the Matrix score. You earn points in the four games by knocking out and outlasting other players. The top three overall finishers (by points) are awarded the Matrix pool. There is one catch--if you can manage to take 1st in all four games, you SCOOP the entire Matrix prize pool!

Here's the end of the Matrix SnG I played.

As you can see, I took 7th, 6th, 5th, and 1st in the four games, for an overall 2nd place finish. (In case of point ties, I guess more knockouts is a tie-breaker.)

Hopefully, that sheds some light on the situation...

You'll have to manually enter your winnings in this case. I'm not adding any new functionality to PT2. These hands weren't importing correctly which is why I created a patch but it's going to be up to you to enter your winnings and define the tournaments as Matrix tournaments. I'm sure the PT3 guys will do more with these types tournaments but with PT2, no new functionality is going to be added for these.
