What's up with all the clustering?

Postby janne_oksanen » Thu Feb 28, 2008 3:33 pm

Every time I import hands now PT3 wants to cluster my DB for 30 min or so. Even if I import as little as 100 hands it does it now. What's up with that?

In the Import->Manual Import tab, uncheck "Cluster on completion". We plan on implementing an auto-cluster which will cluster every 50,000-100,000 hands which should make this a little more convenient.

May I suggest that the "Cluster on completion" checkbox is unchecked by default?

I believe that if you uncheck it, it stays unchecked until you check it again.

That is correct. We have it checked by default so that it clusters after your first manual import which should be done...

I think once we get the auto-clustering implemented that it will be less annoying.

Please see the [url=http://www.pokertracker3.com/products/PT3/docs/?doc=databaseman#Clusterw4g]Database Management & Maintenance Guide[/urlw4g] which provides a good explanation of what clustering is and why it is important.
