PT2 not able to import UB HHs anymore?

Postby transhumanism » Thu Mar 06, 2008 2:21 pm

hey,

up till now, importing UB hands with PT2 hasn't been a big problem for me. but today it looks like there has been an UB software update and from this point on, PT2 hastn been able to import my HHs. The error log display shows the following:

"Unable to open file."

Has anybody been experiencing the same since the newest UB update?

UB in their infinite wisdom locks the hand history files that they save to the hard drive until you leave the table so you cannot import the hands until you leave the table.

johnnyboy, I don't have any contacts at UB, they completely ignore me. I've emailed them a number of times about not locking the hand history files like they do and have never gotten a reply.

Hi Pat,

this has nothing to do with locking their history files. For the past few days, a large number of ring game tables do not generate hand histories anymore, either in the MyDocuments->MyHandHistories folder automatically or in the hand history window that you manually query (so gt+ and pahud do not work).

You can see for yourself. Start opening up random tables at UB as an observer, and open the hand history window. In some cases the Hand History Window works fine, in others the Retrieve button is greyed out and it does not respond to either gt+ or manual requests.

Also, I should add, I've noticed that when the hand history window doesn't work for a given table, that table will also not write hand histories to the harddrive itself either, regardless of whether you are playing at the table or are just an observer.

Have you emailed UB support about this?

Twice, with no response. That's why I was hoping you knew someone on the inside.

Instead of waiting for the end of the session (not always viable, as an interruption in connection will often end the file prematurely, and not start it again, resulting in incomplete hand history) can I continue to use Ultimate History in the good old fashioned way of before?

Incidentally, I note reference to recent patches. I am currently on 2.17.00i - should I be updating to something more recent?

Regards

I don't know if that program still works given all the UB changes.

The latest patch can be downloaded here.
