Attn: Vista Users Installing PostgreSQL 8.3

I confirmed that I have been running it as Administrator. When I opened the Task Manager there was only the one PostgreSQL open.

Please zip up and attach the 4 most recent files located in C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\Data\pg_log to a support ticket as it'll contain more specific information and should help us figure out what's going on in your case.

There was only 1 file and I have sent it through the "support" option on the site

I get this problem when trying to install 2.7....any advice

You should not need to install 8.2.x now - the latest version of 8.3 work fine with Vista. Just download and install 'PT3 WITH postgres' and it will set it all up for you.

Yupp, but the thing is I'm running windows 7, so I don't know if it can work or not

I'm not familiar with that, I'm afraid. What is windows 7? Does postgres support it?

I made it work on windows 7, just had to use an older version of postgres "http://wwwmaster.postgresql.org/download/mirrors-ftp/binary/v8.0.15/win32/postgresql-8.0.15.zip"

Good to know; hopefully the PostgreSQL team will come out with a new version that will work with Win7 soon, though obviously that's not something we can control.
