Did you run the StackBuilder program that I detailed in the second post of this thread?

I installed postgresql on ubuntu with apt-get. There is no point in the install process to choose (or not) stackbuilder or anything else.

I've searched the repositories and google for anything related to postgresql stackbuilder and found nothing.

Then you'll have to install PostgreSQL 8.2 like I detailed in the 4th post of this thread.

Try using "dbpass" as the password when installing again. If that doesn't work then on the first window where it asks for a username/password just change it to "postgres_83" and then enter whatever password you want to use.

Thank you. Using postgres_83 and it works!

btw. the download link in the 4th post isn't working anymore and i probably also was fiddling around with the newest version where they straight asked for the PW and gave me no opportunity to set a new name. running now 8.3.3 Pro and it working. Thanks again!

http://wwwmaster.postgresql.org/downloa ... .3.1-1.zip

When I go to download postgres from the page I get a blank internet explorer page saying it doesnt exist. I tried all the US links and the other countries as well. What could be wrong and what are my options?

Tried to follow this thread from the beginning. Downloaded PT3 but couldn't convert my PT database getting the ODBC error...uninstalled PT3...the 4th post link didn't work to install postgres...used the latest link which worked...I get the ODBC but it still asked for username and password...put one in...try to convert and get the message...101 SQLstate 08001 could not connect to server.
