Ladbrokes - changing from Prima to Microgaming

Postby 8211alhawe » Mon Feb 09, 2009 1:53 pm

Hi there

This is an extract from an email I got today from Ladbrokes

quote >>>>
This is a service message to inform you that there will be a period of planned downtime at Ladbrokes Poker tomorrow morning, Tuesday 10th February, between 02.00 and approximately 12.00 GMT.

During this time we will be joining forces with the Microgaming Poker Network.
<<<< end quote

So, Ladbrokes is making major changes to it's gaming software tomorrow.

Do you know if
I'll still be able to import into PT2 after this change ?
is there a patch ?
do I need to make any config changes ?
will the HUD still work?

Also, how will this affect migrating to PT3 later?
I'm already using PT3 for Party and, obviously, I'd like to move PT2 across entirely without losing any history

I'm hoping you guys are already on top of this as Ladbrokes haven't give us users much warning of the change

Thanks in advance for your help

Prima and Ladbrokes both already use the Microgaming software so I don't see how this will cause anything to change. Maybe it means that Ladbrokes players will now have the ability to play with Prima players on the same site. I believe Ladbrokes was independent before. Either way, I don't think this is going to cause you to have to change anything in PT. There might be a new GameHistory.dat file that you need to tell PT to read from but that should be it.

I can't answer your PTv2 question, but PT3 will be adding support for Microgaming soon at which point Ladbrokes should just work as any other Microgaming skin (assuming it's made the switch anyway).

PT2 no longer imports hands after the upgrade. When will I be able to import using PT3 ?

You need to ask that question on the PT3 forum, I'm not involved with that.

If they are using the Microgaming software, the same that Prima uses, then there is no reason it shouldn't be working. Did you point PT2 to the new GameHistory.dat file? They probably have a new install right? So there is probably a new folder and a new GameHistory.dat file you need to point to.

I'm still pointing at the same gamehistory.dat file.

I get this message :

Import Finished With Errors - The import finished but there were errors. Open the Utilities/Error Log Display/Maintenance window to see the errors - 0 hand(s) were imported.
Starting import of 5 hand(s)...
Reading database, hand #2147483647...
Timer fired...02/11/2009 01:15:38 AM

and in the error box :

02/11/2009 01:15:39
c:\program files\poker tracker v2\PRIMA_HH_1_20090211_011538.txt
Error getting the player summary information for End of game for tourney game #-1881798953.

I'm running PT v2.17.03d (and PTO 1.13.02) and both successfully import hands from Ladbrokes after the migration.

The one *really* minor bug is during the load the status message shows "Reading database, hand #2147483647...".

a) this isn't the current hand number. It should be 24xxxxxxxx.

b) this hand number never increments during the import as it used to do, It stays like that until the import is complete.

2147483647 looks like a 32bit overflow error to me.
