PT2 now and PT3 later

Im thinking about buying PT2 and PAH now, and build a database until PT3 is released.

First of all do I have to convert a postgreSQL database from PT2 to another postgreSQL database PT3? or does postgreSQL just work with both versions?

If I have to convert:
When converting the PT2 database to PT3, will the database be as good as if I created it with PT3 from the start. I mean as far as I now the PT3 database has more information in it. Will the converted database not lag these information?

I'm not quite certain of how the conversion from the PT2 to PT3 db is working at this point. I'm sure you won't lose anything as long as the database contains the text of all the hand histories you have imported.
