Importing troubles

Postby rrosedelay » Wed Mar 12, 2008 9:23 am

No doubt when someone gives me the answer to this I will feel like an idiot, but it won't be the first time, so here goes:

Every time I update a new PT3 beta I re-import my hand histories. In my previous db (PT3.5) I had 406K hand histories, including 11K hands of my own. After reimporting for PT3.5 I have 272K hands, including just 6K hands of my own. I play on Full Tilt exclusively, and when importing I did two separate imports, using "Import from Directory" (with "include sub-directories" checked), one from C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\HandHistory, the other from C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Processed.

The reimport had a ton of duplicates (more than original hand histories) and, as I said, over 130K less hands.

I feel dumb about this, but I'm a first time PT user (used to use Poker Office) and am still figuring out how it works.

Thansk for any help...

Do you have any filters set? Try clicking the "Clear" button on the tab next to the "Filters" button.

I did make sure I cleared the filters. And there are definately hand histories missing. I exported PT3.5 to another folder, and it is 410MB, then exported the newly imported PT3.6 to another folder, it is 275 MB.

Was there a need to re-import in the first place? I only do so bc that's what I gleaned we should do with every update, from reading the 2+2 thread.

At this point I'm wondering if:

1) Is it recommended to re-import one's hand histories with every new beta; and

2) Does it appear that I imported correctly? (I did two separate imports, using "Import from Directory" (with "include sub-directories" checked), one from C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\HandHistory, the other from C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Processed.)

I'm guessing that although there were a lot of duplicates, the missing hands weren't in the files PT3 re-imported. The "Processed" directory doesn't store files you manually import, only those moved after auto-import completes.

As for did you need to re-import? Not for this last release, not unless you were experiencing problems with the previous beta.
