PT3 crashes _A LOT_

Postby NowAndForever » Wed Mar 12, 2008 2:02 pm

A lot of the time it doesn't even start up. I just see the logo that you get when it's starting up, and it won't go beyond that. Then, after trying a lot of times it will start up, but by now it takes just a few clicks to make it crash. It used to be better, but it takes 2 minutes at most now for the program to freeze.

Also, my PokerStars screenname misses a few hundred hands in the 'Player Summary' section compared to the Player Statistics section. The Player Statistics section is correct, so apparently the hands were imported somewhere, but they do not show up in most of the stats. This is even without any filters on. (The crashing happened before the missing hands, but it's been worse since.)

I'm running on Vista.

My PT3 has been working really well, except the odd crash .... I have copied and pasted the info from my events viewer in the hopes that someone will be able to understand it. My guess is its just another vista problem

PS

last time I posted an error msg someone on this site took it and placed it in scroll box (I assume because it takes up less space) If someone could tell me how to do that I will from now on

Are you running Norton or CA Security software? If so, you will need to temporary disable it to start PokerTracker 3. (This is a known issue which we are still trying to work-around)

The only reason your 'Player Summary' window should be different than the 'Player Statistics' window is if you have a filter enabled. Some filters work on the summary window but most will not therefore the stats will be different.

Art,

To put the error in the scroll box you should put
before the message then
after the message.

The next time that PT3 crashes, can you please send us the PokerTracker.log file, located in your PokerTracker 3 directory, via the Support system so that we can look into the issue and hopefully get it resolved?

Thanks Derek ... I will do that ... out of curiosity, I did check out any logs currently in available from yesterday (since pt3 crashed yesterday) and there did not appear to be any references to a crash or unexpected shutdown. However, I did find a log file in my Postgresql directory for that same day which did seem to indicate a forced shutdown occured. Would you want to see that?

I have turned all filters off, and the Player Summary section still has about 300 hands less than the Player Statistics section. Is it possible to make a new database with only hands from the stakes I choose, and would those include the 300 'missing' hands?

I have NOD32 antivirus running, I'll try turning that off.

Every time that you startup PT3, it will overwrite the old log file which explains what you see. The next time it happens just send us the PokerTracker.log prior to restarting...

It sounds like a crash occurred while importing your hands causing the database to become corrupted. Try creating a new database and reimporting your hands and see if that resolves the issue...

Best regards,

Derek

PS. Please keep in mind that this is still a beta so there are some known issues that still need to be worked out...
