service wont start

i did a complete unistall reinstall of postgres so i could move it to another HDD.

backed up database, complete uninstal via pt instructions, reinstalled without initiating DB cluster.

now service wont start. rebooted pc - nothing... manually stopped/started - nothing.

help!

Do you have UAC disabled? If not, disable it (tutorial here).

If you do, what anti-virus/firewall software are you using? PostgreSQL has known issues with a few of them.

i have done an uninstall/reinstall on this pc wo any problems before

Click Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer, click on Application on the top left panel and in the middle panel look for any errors relating to PostgreSQL. Double click them, copy the text and paste it here and it will help me figure out what's causing the problem.
