Hand histories in PostgreSQL

Postby ralphrob » Sat Mar 15, 2008 7:29 pm

I notice that hand histories table contents are saved during PostgreSQL backup.

My question. Do I need to keep the processed hand histories kept elsewhere?

Yes, the hand histories are stored in your database. Observed hand histories are only stored if you enable that option in the import window.

I highly recommend, at least during this beta testing phase, that you keep your hand history files. You will more than likely need to reimport your hands, at least once, during the testing process. Once the commercial version of PT3 is released, it is not as important to save your hand history files; however, I would still recommend doing it in case of emergency. Hard drive space is cheap and text files compress nicely and take up very little space.

Best regards,

Derek
