Service won't start

Postby oshmalls » Thu May 07, 2009 1:33 pm

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program numerous times, I cannot get the service to start. Whenever I try to open or send the log file to you guys it says access denied or whatever, Im guessing its some vista thing, I have disabled the UAC and all that and followed your guide. Whenever I try to delete the entire postgres folder it says access denied. This has been going on for almost a week now, please help.

Try uninstall PostgreSQL, then renaming the PostgreSQL folder to something else (PostgreSQL-Broken or some such) then reinstalling and see if that fixes things for you.

Follow the steps in this post to make sure you have full read/write permissions for the folder, you should be able to delete/rename it after.

Ya I followed it exactly, and I am still not able to delete it, and I am still unable to open log file. The computer I am using is brand new, is there any way I can completely reset to its original settings? This would help wouldn't it?

You'd have to contact whomever you got the computer from; most places set up a restore partition but I don't know how they're all set up off the top of my head.

Hi, I got everything up and running by using the latest beta version of postgres. The problem is now that my HUD is not working, it will show up on 2-3 tables when I start up a session but then soon after it disappears, the auto import still works however. The computer I am running only has 1 GB of ram is it possible this is not enough to run the HUD while 8-10 tabling?

Please enable logging (Configure --> Options --> Logging Enabled and restart PT3) and attempt to import while playing for one full orbit then attach the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTracker.log and C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTrackerHud.log files to a support ticket and we'll look into what could be causing this for you.
