Using PT3 on Trial - Database problems

Postby concussed » Tue May 12, 2009 5:17 pm

Hi
I am trying to run the trial version of PT3, but getting the message
"Fatal Exception during Auto-Import process: Unable to connect to database: PokerTracker 3 Database"

Could that be postgres related as per my screenshots?:

So i double click, and this comesup:

I click Start, and this error message pops up

Anything wrong with this ?....

In your last screenshot "This account" needs to be ".\postgres" (not your name).
The password is "dbpass".

OK - Complete removal (I hope) and re-install.
Downloaded version 8.3.7-1, and I get as far as providing a "password for the database user and service account (postgres)"

What do I put here ? If I leave blank, it denies me anything further. I try dbpass, and no joy. I have no idea what this password is. Any advice again please ?

A step further..
I did Run and "net user postgres /delete"
and now I have installed this version.
However, Now PT3 says
"Fatal Exception during Auto-Import process: Unable to connect to database: PokerTracker 3 Database"

Edit the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data\Config\PokerTracker.cfg file and remove everything in the [Databases] section; then save and restart PT3 and you can reconfigure PT3 to connect to your newly set up PostgreSQL database.

I'm a little confused by this part..
"and remove everything in the [Databases] section; then save "

The screenshot is here:

Do I delete "Everest" and "Poker Tracker" ? What do I "Save" ?

[Thanks for your time so far]

You need to open the file and remove everything within the [Databases] section - do NOT delete any files.
Open My Computer and browse to the above folder and open the specified file with notepad (double-clicking it should do that).
