Unable to connect after upgrade

Postby andy2001 » Sun May 17, 2009 10:50 pm

I just upgraded to the May version of poker tracker 3. At first I could not re register but was able to sort that out by changing the settings on Process Guard. But the when I start Poker Tracker 3 it asks me to configure PostgreSQL Server. I click connect at get a message “Unable to connenect to this database. Please check configuration.

Please follow the directions in this tutorial to reinstall PostgreSQL and that should fix everything for you.

I tried that and it did not make any difference. In the end I just uninstalled both SQL and pokertracker 3 then reinstalled pokertracker 3 and had it reinstall SQL. Then re created the database, but I did not have all the hands I lost just over 1000 of my own 5900 fulltilt hands and some of my mined hands. I have not had time to check if everything is working yet but one fault I have found is The Details tab says “Unable to load Query: Don’t know how to load query file”

Your processed hand history files should be in the 'processed' folder (unless you deleted it) - you can run a Manual Import of that folder to re-import them (see Auto Import tab to see where your processed folder is - this could be different if you changed it in your previous installation..).

Try running full Housekeeping and restarting PT3 - does the Details tab work now?
If not Please enable logging, reproduce the problem and submit your PokerTracker.log file to the Support system , and link to this thread in the reference field of the ticket so that we can investigate.

I’ve now managed to get the rest of my hands into the database and that seemed to fix the Details tab except that some profiles showed slightly less hands on the details tab than every where else. Then I loaded my Microgaming hands from pokertracker 2 and this caused the details tab to be broken again. Apart from the details tab it seems to be working.

What version of PT3 are you using? (Check the title bar.)
There was a problem with the Details tab previously but that should be OK in beta 27.

Have you rebuilt the cache since you imported the microgaming hands?
That should fix it.

It's 27.1. I did a full housekeeping including update cached and that made no diffrence,

Could you please enable logging and submit the logs as WhiteRider requested? That would help us in figuring out what step to take next.

Well I enabled logging and restarted pokertracker 3 and now the details tab is working again. I do have one problem however. I was just trying the trial of table shark which needs to connect to the data base. It needs the password which must be whatever the latest version sets it to by default. It is not dbpass as claimed in the link above. It appears to be 6 characters long what is it?
