Hello,
Since installing PT3 about a year ago, I have always had problems with PostgreSQL. Sometimes it occurred when I would install a PT3 update and I'd get the "Invalid PostgreSQL Connection Object" message, and it has always happened when I try to do any sort of Housekeeping. I even went as far as to follow the full tutorial on reinstalling PostgreSQL but continue to experience errors.
Today I figured out why I can do housekeeping for about 6 minutes before I get the error message. PostgreSQL simply shuts off. I had my task manager open b/c I had to start postgreSQL because it wasn't running. When it loaded up, I opened PT3 and began the housekeeping process. About 6 minutes in, I noticed the PostgreSQL processes disappear and I received the error message about 20 seconds after. After observing this multiple times, I have come to the conclusion that this is why I have always received the PostgreSQL error.
My database is nearing 1million hands, and I feel that I need to do some serious housekeeping because things are starting to slow down significantly. How do I prevent postgreSQL from shutting down? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob
