Import stucked

Postby GregXX » Mon Apr 24, 2023 9:59 am

Hi! My import from the folder process has been stucked from yesterday (now almost 24h has passed). Information in View Import Status haven't updated from 08:09 pm yesterday, so you can see on screenshot its last status. It actually was not a big folder at all and usually PT4 deals with similar tasks quite fast (may be 5-10 minutes, including DB Maintainance). At some point I decided to click "Stop tournament detection" but it didn't help.
All other functions of PT4 works just fine as usual, no problems at all: I can browse through DB and open replayer, make notes etc. I just can't close it as well as can't get hands while playing (which is completely reasonable though).

Now I am a bit puzzled how to resolve it? Just restart PC regardless and let it kill the process? I am pretty much sure it will not have any significant issues, but wonder if I'd better wait still. I checked at Task Manager how much of activity does PT4 show and it seems like it's constantly processing something. What can you advise?

Omg, since 40 hours have passed, import buttons became active again & I could finally close PT4 correctly.

Thanks for the update - I was posting a response and I was informed of your reply. Can you please attach that sample you imported into PokerTracker 4 to a Support Ticket so we can try and reproduce this.

Oh my, this happened again during manul import from the folder. And import status window shows exactly the same info in the last line: "33000 players read - updating finishes".

As you can see I have my PT4 updated to the last version now. This time I haven't clicked on "Stop Tournament Detection" yet and still waiting for PT4 to work this around. I hope it can do it successfully like the last time. I have been already waiting for more than 40 hours like previous time. And now btw I have original folder, so can send you HH's via support page.

It again shows in task manager that PT4 is processing something, engaging PCU and RAM like it was before. I manually changed priority of PokerTracker4.exe to "High/RealTime" to let it handle the job faster.

If you terminate any processes while a connection to the database is active there is a risk of database corruption but you can check in task manager if there are 'PostgreSQL Server' tasks writing to disk. Even if there isn't any disk activity I'd recommend stopping the PostgreSQL server manually via Windows Services before doing so. Whatever happens please attach this hand history sample to a Support Ticket along with a support bundle so a technician can review your current configuration/setup:

I am actually still waiting for PT4 to finish the process. It still shows activity in Task Manager and I retain a hope that it will finally finish the process... #crazy

Can you kindly give short instruction on how to stop Postgre via Windows Services please? I know at least that there is a button in Database Management in PT4, which name is "Stop Services", but I am not sure if it is what I need.

Are you still referring to PokerTracker 4 activity in task manager? What about the 'PostgreSQL Server' processes in task manager I asked about? Are they active and writing to disk?

Click your Windows Start button then type the following command:

services.msc

and click on it when it appears. Scroll to and select the PostgreSQL service in the list of services and there will be a link to stop that service. You can also stop the service by right-clicking on it and selecting 'Stop'.

Yes, PT4 is still active, but I'm not sure about Postgre. I just attach screenshots from TaskManager.
