Downloading new version 4.17.10

I'm new to PCs and have some questions about downloading the latest version of PT4.

When I open PT4 I get a message with a link to the new version. Can I simply click on it and download the new version and it will overwrite the old version and keep all my data?

Or do I need to make a backup, uninstall the old version and install the new version and import my data?

Yes. Just make sure PokerTracker 4 and any poker sites are not open when you run the installer file.

You do not need to make a backup or uninstall the older version. With that said regular backups are always recommended and some PokerTracker 4 releases will require updates to existing databases and if that's the case when you update PokerTracker 4 you will be prompted to backup your existing data.
