PT4 Is Slow

Postby buenrollo » Tue Jan 28, 2025 5:27 am

Hello everybody!

I upgraded from Windows 10 to 11 about a month ago, and I've noticed PT4 feels sluggish/slow. Stats are refreshed several hands later, the mucked hands replayer also takes a few hands to appear...

I have a decent processor for the data operations, NVME drive and 32GB ram.

Is there anything I could do to get this to how it worked before?

Thanks on beforehand!

If your database isn't that large go to 'Database -> Database Management'. Click the 'Housekeeping' button and run the following in this order:

1. Tune PostgreSQL (if this step fails you can safely skip to step #2)
2. Reindex
3. Cluster
4. Vacuum/Analyze

When that's done rebuild your database cache via 'Rebuild Cache -> Full Cache Rebuild'. If that doesn't change anything please turn on 'Enable Logging' in PokerTracker 4 via 'Configure -> Options' and then restart PokerTracker 4. Next reproduce this issue on a table and then create a support bundle via the 'File -> Create Support Bundle' menu option in PokerTracker 4. When that file has been saved attach your support bundle to a Support Ticket where a technician can review your logs and advise you accordingly.

Hi! I tried this yesterday and maybe it's going a bit smoother when importing hands and reflecting them in the HUD stats. However, the mucked cards replay is still terribly slow.

Nah, slow as hell and I've noticed that after a few hours of play the HUD is not shown on some tables. This is weird as hell... could it have something to do with windows 11?

I've noticed that when I click "Stop getting hands" it always freezers, it says the program is not responding and I have to wait until it recovers itself.

Hello, please reproduce the issue and send us a Support Bundle as instructed by Flag_Hippo. This will help us investigate the problem.

Thanks! I played for a few hundred hands, created a support bundle and submitted a ticket.

Hopefully we can find out what's going on :?

P.S. I just restarted my computer, opened PT4 and now the HUD isn't even showing up. The import status shows the import of hands from tournaments which I already busted, but no hands from the two tournaments that I currently have open. This is so crazy and annoying.

I can also see that when I see the import status while playing there is like a 10 minute delay in the hands that are being imported. In case this is of any help to troubleshoot.

A technician will be following up with you via your support ticket. Also if you create a new temporary database and use that then this might get things up and running in the meantime:

In order to reflect only the current sessions stats for each rival? It kind of defeats the purpose of tracking thousands of hands to only use 30 from that current session...
