convert to postgre - Problem

Postby act_ » Fri Aug 15, 2008 7:32 am

Hi,

int he past i didnt have any problems with converting access DBs to postgre...
then i tried to restore a postgre-db and obviously did something wrong with ODBC and/or template1 :|

actually now i cannot convert a new and empty access DB to postgreSQL, this error appears:

Error creating table - ERROR_MSGS

7-SQLSTATE = 42p07
ERROR: relation "error_msgs" already exists;
Error while exectuing the query

help anyone?!?

Have you installed multiple versions of PostgreSQL? Make sure you are looking at the right one because I've never seen this error that wasn't caused by having some tables in the template1 database.

afaik i didnt install multiple postgres [in the start => programm folders only appears my postgres 8.2 and nothing else]

just to check if i did right

startet pg admin => logged into database server with my password through "connect"

[there i dont have a template1 database, my "wartungsdatenbank" is called "postgres", is that fine?]

click on the postgres DB => Schemata (1) => public => all appering sub-folders have (0) [including tables]

If you don't see the template1 database then you need to show system objects. Under the View menu check the System Objects option.
