error (IM002) when exporting data

Postby AceInSleeve » Sat Aug 23, 2008 10:10 am

I use PTO on Win XP. When I want to export data to a text or Excel file, there is the following error message:

Unable to connect to the hand history database
999 - SQLSTATE = IM002
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Anything else works fine. The SQLite driver is installed. What can I do ?

I wanna add, that I recently had to reinstall all my software. Before the reinstall I didn't have that problem.

When you reinstalled the software did you try to restore old files? Is there a hhdbo.mdb file in your Poker Tracker Omaha folder?

The only thing I could save from my old system was a backup file of my Omaha database from which I restored a Postgres database. There is the hhdbo.mdb file in my Poker Tracker Omaha folder.

So you are using a PostgreSQL database to do the export? This error usually comes from an Access database.

Do you get this error when viewing or importing hand histories or is it just when you try to export hands?

I can import and view hand histories withput any problem. This error message occurs, when I want to export some data. E.g in the Session Notes tab I press the Print button, choose Export, enter the filetype and the path, click Export and then there is that error. Exporting hand histories to a file works by the way.

Did you ever set up another hand history database that doesn't exist now? Go to Utilities > Database Maintenance and Options, Hand History DBs tab. If there are any listed there you should remove them.

If that wasn't the case, what data section were you exporting on the Session Notes tab and which fields did you select?

I looked up the Hand History DBs tab. There is no entry. But nevertheless there was another database.

I have to explain more detailed. Before the reinstall of my system i had an Omaha database and a Texas Holdem database. On my hard disk I had one partition, C:, with the operating system and general programs and one explicitely for all the poker stuff (poker rooms, Poker Tracker, Postgres, etc), D:. I had an image of the C: partition which I copied to my new harddisk. The image of the D: partition got damaged somehow and I had to reinstall all the poker stuff from zero. Nevertheless the information of my old Texas holdem database, it was called TEXAS_HOLDEM, remained somewhere in the system. So, e.g. in the settings of PokerEV and Poker Ace HUD there still is this Holdem database, the programs wanna access it and I get error messages because it doesn't exist. But those programs still work with my Omaha database. I looked up the registry but couldn't find any entries of TEXAS_HOLDEM. It doesn't appear anywhere in PTO either.

Unfortunately I don't have a backup for TEXAS_HOLDEM, only 3 backup files for 3 different sites. So I had to export their hand histories, import them into one new database, whiche i had to name TEXAS_HOLDEM. As I don't play this any more I really don't want to do all that work. But of course, if this is the only way to get Poker Tracker working without errors, I have to do it somewhen. Alternatively you maybe have an idea to get rid of the leavings of that database.

Ok, back to the export problem. Meanwhile I tried it with each data section, Starting Hands, Session Details, Position Statistics and so on, in each case with all fields selected. I tried to epxort the data as Excel, Comma Separated and Tab Delimited. Nothing works.
