HUD supporting only 5 tables?

Postby Tomukas » Sat Oct 11, 2008 7:03 am

Just as I enter to 6'th table, PT3 HUD starts superlagging (like one HUD stat window appears in 5 minutes on tables, the same with the updates). If I close 6th table, just in a minute everything is OK.

Have you tried enabling "Enhance HUD Performance" in the HUD configuration options, and have you tried to switch between the different performance levels available on that same tab to see if it helps (make sure to restart PT3)? If that doesn't do it, please have a look at our Performance Tuning PostgreSQL Guide and our Performance Tuning Hard Drives Guide and see if that resolves the issues. If that doesn't help either, what are your system specs like?

Also, have you run Housekeeping to rebuild the cache recently?

Thank You both, even if it shouldn''t be a time to do a Housekeeping again, but I will try :) Also no, I didn't notice that performance thing in Hud options.

I'm just curious - why it appeared only when 6th table has appeared in action? Never was in 4-5, and seems to be always (well, was the first day I tried to play on such an amount) on 6 :)

The more tables you have open, the more stats that have to be retrieved from the database, so it will have to work harder with more tables open and hence you will potentially see more problems.

I understand that - but why it is only when 6th table is opened? No matter are first 5 tables full, or half full. So it is connected with table number, not with the number of active players.

Also - Housekeeping and Enhance HUD Performance didn't make any difference at all.

Will C, if "Performance Tuning PostgreSQL" will help...

Showing stats on a new table requires much more work than showing stats for another player on the same table.

Well, even if Performance Tuning PostgreSQL did help a lot with performance, but still 6th table makes everything almost to freeze.

Well, maybe my computer is just tooooooooooooooo old... Athlon XP 1800+ 1,5GB RAM...

Well yes it's true that you will need a decent system to be able to multitable.
Did you try the different 'HUD performance levels' on the HUD Options too?
