Creating Cache.

Postby myth123 » Sat Nov 22, 2008 4:35 pm

Hi, I was just wondering how long this process is supposed to take. I do have very big databases (PTO over 2 million, PT2 over 3) but it's been running for over 12 hours already and it's still on database 1 of 2.

It could take that long - obviously it depends on the speed of your computer and hard disk.
Let it run overnight and if it hasn't progressed by the morning, post back.

Core 2 duo at 2.5ghz (although PAhud seems to only use 1 core) with a dedicated SSD (only postgresql with PTDBs on there)... Just a bit disconcerting to see no progress bars.

I know that the HUD in PT3 only uses one core because it has to run on the same processor as the poker site's table windows.
No, there is no progress bar - I'm afraid you'll just have to wait it out. Once the cache has built it will not need to fully rebuild in future - if you update it frequently enough it won't take very long.

Took almost 20 hours but it finally says Retrieving Ring Stats from database 2 of 2. I just hope it processed the bigger hold'em table first.

I think it probably did - normally the first one is the oldest/fullest one.
As I said, once it finishes, next time you do it it won't take so long. Make sure you rebuild it frequently. I don't use the auto-update-at-startup option - what I do is manually trigger it at the end of each day, and that way it takes a matter of minutes.

Great!
I know it's a bit painful the first time, but if you now keep updating it regularly it won't take as long to do each incremental update.

Hi!

8 hours for 10,000 hands in 1 database and still not done.
Something wrong for sure.
