PT3 poor performance on Boss?

Postby Tapeworm1 » Fri Nov 28, 2008 9:16 am

Hi

I just started using PT3, and it appears to be really performing poorly 6 tabling on Boss. The poker client buttons dont react in time, the curser moves slowly from time to time. It seems like the pc only uses 10 percent of its power. I have about 550k hands in the db, and just ran a complete cluster, vacuum, etc. I think its happening while PT is importing hands. What could be the issue here?

I have had no problems like this 8 tabling using PT2. I have a 3,2 GHz Pentium 4 with 2 GB RAM.

Best regards

Also under "HUD options" check "enhance hud performance" and experiment with each of the performance levels.

Thanks man. I did upgrade to 8.3.5 and did run the optimizer, but now i get this error in PT: Unable to log in to database (PT3DB). Reason: could not connect to server. Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

What to do?

Thanks in advance.

Did you start the service again after you installed the update?

This is so F***ing weird. Before installing latest version (8.3.5) of Postgres i deleted version 8.2 via control panel (dunno if its named that in english). Know when i go to check the Postgres files i see version 8.3.5 AND version 8.2.x???????? Furthermore the data file in 8.3.5 is empty whereas the data file in 8.2.x is full of shit.

Please help, this is so d***ed annoying. After installing PT3 everything worked. Then u wanna optimize performance and then suddenly NOTHING works:-(

Thanks in advance.

Before you updated your postgres version, did you backup your database?
An 8.2 database won't just work in postgres 8.3.
