PAh PLO and PT3 problem on OnGame network

Postby Tessai » Sat Dec 13, 2008 9:39 am

Hi,

white rider told me to post this here (i dont know why but...)

there are no stats no icon nothing shown on OnGame PLO or Holdem, PT3 and PTO are importing fine, filters are set off or easy and the handhistory files are linked properly.

when i only try to select one PTO database and no PT2/3 database in PAH then i recieve following error message and all PT2/3 databases are automatically selected:

SQL Connection Exception: Failed to connect to datasource: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] hte datasourcename was not found, and there is no standart driver configured

can somebody tell me how to configure my SQL or ODBC Drive Manager correct, but i have fear to mess it up and then no other site could work (they are working properly)

thanks

What program gives you this error? You mention PTO, PT2, PT3 and PAHUD in this description and I have no idea what is working and what isn't. If you get this error with PT2, are you using Vista? If so, then it sounds like you haven't been running all your poker software as administrator. Does Vista prompt you to cancel/allow PT2 to run?

PT3 is working fine with all pokersites, except on OnGame it doesn`t show stats or the HUD icon (but it is importing properly). I have no error message.

PTO is importing properly on all sites i am playing at!

PokerAce Hud (i am trying to use it with PTO)does not recognise any tables i am playing at OnGame and gives me the following error message when i start it and/or when i try to deselect all PT databases and only select one PTO database:

SQL Connection Exception: Failed to connect to datasource: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] the datasourcename was not found, and there is no standart driver configured

I am running my programms as an Admin in XP

thanks for your help

This is the PT2 forum, I don't know why WR would have told you to post a PTO/PAHUD issue here.

The only thing I can think to tell you to do is to add a new database entry in PTO. File > Maintain Database Names window, click the Add button. It sounds like you are using a PostgreSQL db so choose the "Select existing PostgreSQL database" in the last field and choose the PTO database from the list. This may leave you with multiple entries pointing to the same database but that's OK.

Click OK to save.

Now try pointing PAHUD to this new database entry to added.

ok thanks for the tip

but doing this i have a problem:

PTO tells me to first define the PostgreSQL settings and there i can not select an option in "ODBC entry to use" because it is blank (there is nothing to select) and when i check it in PT2 i find there "PostgreSQL unicode" selected but even there when i try to select something else i have no option at all (even not "PostgreSQL unicode")—maybe my Postsql installation is broken i have to reinstall it, but i heard that reinstalling is not recommended? or should i reinstall PTO too? and what about PT3 not showing anything at all in holdem games?

I realy hope you have an idea what the problem is about because i am getting nervous ... i am using PTO and PT over 4 years now with no or minor bucks and i dont have the knowledge to solve these problems myself.

thanks

What version of PostgreSQL are you using now? Is it 8.2 or 8.3 and did you let PT3 install it for you?

This doesn't make sense then. If you let PT3 install PostgreSQL then I don't know how you would have converted your PTO database to PostgreSQL. Open the File > Maintain Database Names window in the PTO program. For the entry that has the "Dflt" box checked, what is the value in the last field and what is the database type listed there?

ptracko3.mdb

is the filename in the last field of the checked row.

Sorry if i cause some confusion, but its the first time since many years that i have big problems with PTO, thats why i am never needed to got into the details

OK, so you aren't using PostgreSQL with PTO, that's an Access database name.

So try opening the File > Maintain Database Names window in PTO, click the Add button. Enter a new description, check the "Dflt" box and in the last field choose "Browse to select existing Access database". Browse to the c:\program files\poker tracker omaha folder and select this file, ptracko3.mdb

Click OK to save the changes.

Now close and reopen PTO and then try using PokerAce to select this new entry you added.
