maximum allowed number of observed PokerStars hands?

Postby d94ccm » Tue Dec 30, 2008 12:59 pm

While playing on stars i get the following message using PT3:

The maximum allowed number of observed PokerStars hands has been reached.
No more observed hands will be imported until 30 minutes have passed and PokerTracker is restarted.
This is a PokerStars requirement and only affects your observed tables.

is this some poker stars rule or can i fix it on my computer?

Thanks

Olly

This is a complete joke, you are allowed to observe 30 hands every 30 min.
I mean why implement a mining possibility in PT3 when you cant use it at least for half an hour on multiple tables.

Just uncheck " enable memory grabber" in the Pokerstars tab and you wont recieve the error message anymore !

That was the maximum allowed number of hands that Stars would let us import for tableselection purposes without turning PokerTracker 3 into a banned application. If you would like to import more hands, you need to petition Stars to allow us to import more; we'll change it to the maximum they allow if they decide to change their stance.

Also, this has no effect on PLAYED hands; you can import as many played hands as you can manage to play.

On the Auto Import tab of PT3, click PokerStars at the left then PokerStars Configuration on the right and the option is located there.

I asked Pokerstars by email to let me register more hands:

Hello,
I'm a new player at Pokerstars. (I've played at Fulltilt & Winamax)
I am et begginer and i play CG NL 25 SH for instance. But I want to progress & to learn to play using player statistics.
I use a Pokertracker 3. Before playing i use to open dosen of tables and wait one hour to have some statistics players. I chose the best table of my opinion and play having about 80 hands statistics par player. (I made it like this on Fultilt)
On your site, Pokertracker 3 stop to import the hands after 30 hands imported.
So I request you to permit me to import more hands with my Pokertracker 3.
I uderstand your politics against datamining and i aprouve it. This is one of the reasons I came to play on your site.... I don't want to use the prohibited software but I think that you have to permit for the players to made thair own database. It is impossibly too play seriously poker without statistics....
I hope You approuve my request.
Sincerely Yours
Jerzy Kasprowicz
PS
excuse my english and answer in french is possibly

Thes said me ... NO

The reason that we stop your software from importing more than 30 hands is
that you have not been playing in the game which you are observing. As a
result of this we limit the amount of hands which you can import to stop
players datamining without comitting any money to the table. I can
understand that this is not your intention in this case, but this is an
automatic action from our software and we are unable to make individual
exceptions.
If you were playing in the game then you can legitimately store all the
information that you like and build up your database in this way. I hope
you can understand our reasons for this limit....

YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING WITH IT

WHEN I FIND AN INTERESTING TABLE I OPEN IT AND I GO TO WAIT LIST

WHEN I WAITING PT3 IMPORT SOME HANDS AND WHEN I GO TO TABLE I HAVE SOME STATISTICS

USUALY I YOU WAIT FOR 3 OR 4 TABLES AND PT3 STOP ...

30 HANDS IS REALY NOT ENOUGH

MAKE IT 150 OR 300 PLEASE..., ASK POKERSTARS..., MAKE INDIVIDUAL PERMISSIONS OR STUF....

30 hands per session was the most we could work out with PokerStars, and even that took some lobbying. We will not breech the PokerStars Terms of Service by going above the agreed amount.

If other players like yourself continue to send in well written clear requests for more hands it is possible they will change their stance, as Stars has been known to be responsibe to user requests in the past.

I am 6 and 8 tabling.... To start up I join a table and click wait for big blind. I hit this timeout everyday.

I guess this means for my 400-900 hands played I obtain no observed data for hands I am not in?

That's correct – PokerStars do not allow you to import observed hands. They have made an exception to allow us to import up to 30 observed hands for table selection purposes. This does not affect the hand you play – all played hands will be imported.
