Avg. Finish Miscalculation

Postby mteaney » Sat Mar 14, 2009 2:48 pm

Although PT3 calculates individual buy-in avg finish, it miscalculates the overall average finish when there are two or more different buy-ins. For example:

Buy-In Tournaments Avg Players Avg Finish 1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place
$30.00 1 2 1 1 0 0
$20.00 1 2 1 1 0 0
$5.00 12 2 1.67 4 8 0

3 Buy-In(s) 14 2 1.22 6 8 0

In the above example PT3 calculates the Avg Finish for the 3 buy-ins as 1.22. The actual average finish for the 3 buy-ins should be 1.57 (or at least that is what PT2 would have calculated).

My post didn't format properly Overall there were 6 1st place finishes and 8 2nd place finishes and no 3rd place finishes in the 14 heads up tournaments.

Please disregard. This is a duplicate posting posted in error when for some reason my initial post didn't show up on my laptop this afternoon.
