Query regarding the "Details" Tab - Beta 25

Postby SMACK68 » Tue Mar 31, 2009 12:37 am

Hi,

I recently installed Beta 26 and was most impressed with the new functionality that has been introduced over the last 2 software releases.

Quick question regarding the “Details” Tab (I think this was introduced in Beta 25). I have had a quick look at it and can’t seem to make any sense of the information being displayed. (i.e: It reports that I have played 1,427 hands when in actual fact I have played just under 47,000 hands).
Is the “Details” Tab still a work in progress or have I done something to it to cause this?
I tried searching through the forums but could not find much information.

Keep up the great work guys.

Cheers,

Make sure you don't have any filters set - click 'Clear'.
If that doesn't help, run Housekeeping to make sure your cache is up to date.
There was an issue with only the main alias being shown in the details tab so if you have multiple aliases a cache rebuild should fix that (this issue has been fixed now).

Hi WhiteRider,

Thanks for your help. I certainly don't have any filters set and ran Housekeeping as requested.

The problem still remains but I have been able to confirm that this problem is PC related.
I have 2 PC's and on my main PC (Desktop) everything works fine.
This issue is appearing on my laptop only. Both PC's are configured the same way and have the same DB's.
I keep them synchronised by backing up the database on one PC (using pgAdminIII) and then restoring to the other (Yes, I do delete the DB first and recreate it before I execute a Restore).
I even went as far as removing PT3 and PostgreSQL and reinstalling them (including restoring all DB's) but the problem still remains.

I have also noticed on the "General" Tab the "Amount Shown" Field in both the Player Summary and Player Statistics is different ( on my Dersktop they are the same). Not sure if this helps to shed some firther light.

That is as far as I have taken it, not sure what to try next and as always appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Thanks,

Please enable logging, reproduce the problem by viewing a few reports and submit your PokerTracker.log file to the Support system , and link to this thread in the reference field of the ticket so that we can investigate.
Include screenshots of what you see too.
Thanks.

Hi Whiterider,

Over the last few days I have researched my problem a little further and began the process of documenting it (including screenshots as requested).

What I did discover is that my issue may have to do with the backup and restore process. I didn't notice it at the time but I was getting errors once the restore process completes. the first error I see is

pg_restore: creating TABLE holdem_cache
pg_restore: [archiver (db)] Error while PROCESSING TOC:
pg_restore: [archiver (db)] Error from TOC entry 1564; 1259 184581 TABLE holdem_cache postgres
pg_restore: [archiver (db)] could not execute query: ERROR: relation "holdem_cache" already exists

Searching the forums I came across some similar issues and the suggested fix was

1. Update Outdated Database –
Link: http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16808
2. Dropping “holdem_cache” table –
Link: http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=17748&p=84188&hilit=%22holdem_cache%22+already+exists#p84188

Once I dropped the holdem_cache table my stats in the "Details" Tab (and for that fact the "General" Tab) were now correct.

The next step in the process involves rebuilding the cache and this is where I may be getting it wrong. What is the correct process for "Rebuilding the Cache".

I assumed that all I had to do was run house keeping with the "Update Cache" option selected however when I did try this all I ended up doing was recreating the problem (i.e: I ended up with the exact same discrepancy in my figures as to what I originally had).

Apologies for not submitting a support ticket but I have a feeling my fix is very close at hand. Like I said previously I have taken the required screenshots, captured the Restore Error Log and are in the process of documenting the problem in detail should it be required.

Could you please advise me of the correct process for rebuilding the Cache?

Thanks again for all your help.

The correct method for rebuilding the cache is to just run the Update Cache section of the housekeeping.

Could you please submit those logs as WhiteRider requested? They'll help us figure out what's going wrong in your cache creation process.

Hi Kraada,

Thanks for your help.

Happy to produce and submit a log file. Would the correct process be

1. Enable Logging
2. Run Full housekeeping.
3. Grab a copy of the file and submit via your support ticket process.

Thanks,

Yes, that would be the procedure. Just make sure to attach the files while PT3 is still running after the housekeeping finishes.
