PT-Install-v3.00.b30.7 not starting

Hi,

I am running PT3 3.0b30.7 or I should better say I tried it. After installation and reboot it is using 100% CPU and just showing the PT3 startup sign. I am usins Avira as Virusscanner. What should I do now.

Press ctrl+alt+del and click Task manager. Go to the processes tab - do you see any postgres processes?

no there is no postgres process

Having the same problem, but am getting postgres processes. Running on Vista home premium.

Click Start, either in the window (in vista or win 7) or in the run box (win xp) type services.msc and hit enter. Scroll down and see if there's a PostgreSQL process there - if there is, try to start it. If it fails with an error, tell me what the error is.

Oh I forgot to tell that I am using Vista Ultimate 64bit version.

When using the process explorer I can see that a threat with startaddress 0x0 is using 50% CPU and another threat ntdll.dll is using 5 to 10 % CPU.

now (after 25 minutes) pokertracker came up and is updating the DB but is is showing "not responding"

there is a service and it is started, i restarted it and there was no error

PostgreSQL Database Server 8.3 is running.

I'm running a vacuum, update and cluster just to see if that's the problem.

fwiw, when the housekeeping finished, I restarted and it appears to be working now. Hope that helps.
