HUD problems on the last few beta versions

Postby Pecunia » Wed Mar 17, 2010 9:48 am

I'm not very active on this forum, but I do want to explain my problem now, because it's quite serious. I have various problems with the PT3 HUD. On this moment I have version beta 30.4 and the stats next to my playername are updated every hand, but on all other players the stats are not updated. On some of the players and on the new players I encounter, I don't get any stats at all. And while playing against a new player, the hands are imported in PT3 but the nickname of that player can't be found in my database. So in general, not all the stats are displayed and almost all of the stats aren't updated. This is quite a basic, serious problem. I have these and similar problems since version 30.4. I also tried the newer beta versions, but also there these problems still occur. I didn't saw a topic on this so I wonder if I am the only one with these problems?

Maybe I should switch back to the standard version 3 for a while?

Please update to Beta 30.8 and run full housekeeping.
If you still see the same thing then please report your problem so that we can investigate.

I will try that later this day, thanks for the reaction.

I just updated PT3 back to the last normal (non-beta) version and now the HUD doesn't appear on any of my tables, but this version did work well some time ago. So it is likely that the problem isn't just inside the program version itself but maybe in my pc/database. One main problem is that PT3 does not recognize new players. I played heads up for a while against an unknown player and when I opened a hand of that session in PT3, it displayed me as the only player, so my opponent wasn't there (also not in the database). When I clicked on 'replay hand' PT3 crashed. I also have the problem that PT3 sometimes just crashes on a random moment, for no apparent reason. I have this problem already several months. Housekeeping doesn't seem to help against the problem of random crashes.

Lots of issues have been fixed since Build 5.2, and quite a few sites have changed their software since then too so it's very possible the HUD won't work. What site(s) do you play at?

I play on Full Tilt.

By the way, what should I do to 'replace' the hands where (some) opponents are missing, as I described in my previous post? If I manually import those hands again then PT3 sees them as duplicates. The opponents in these hands just don't appear in my database. I have over 45000 nicknames in my database, does that matter? I did the whole housekeeping today after updating to the newest beta version.

You will need to update to Beta 30.8 because Full Tilt have changed their software significantly since Build 5.2 was released.

To correct the imports you'll need to purge and re-import the sessions affected.

I did update to beta 30.8 and I did the whole housekeeping. After that, I manually reimported the affected hands, and PT3 said it were all duplicates. But after I did that, the affected hands are 'repaired', they now show all the opponents and I can find these opponents also in my database now. I just started playing at some tables and the HUD is working fine now. And now I read your reaction about purging and re-importing the hands. Somehow it did work for me without purging, I only re-imported the hands. But whatever, it works fine now, thanks for your help anyway.

OK, that's great.
When you ran housekeeping did you tick the 'reindex' option as well?

No, I didn't.

I also ran the housekeeping that is defaultly selected when importing manually (after re-importing the affected hands). I didn't saw a reindex option there.
