Can't connect to database. password problem?

Postby sXeffects » Tue Aug 31, 2010 2:58 pm

I tried uninstalling but I can't see the PDF file bc I don't have the full version of it on my PC and it just freezes. Can someone copy and paste that, or just the steps for uninstalling postgres.

Whenever I try to open up pokertracker3 and connect to postgres it says "unable to connect to this database. please check configurations".

When I try and start, stop, restart, or go into the sql shell, it tells me access denied or for sql shell " password authentication failed."

Ive tried to edit the EDIT pg_hb.conf but I can't seem to get that file to open to change md5 to trust.

I'm on vista btw.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhh I just want to have a hud up for the games i grind.

Try using the password postgrespass and see if that works.

If it doesn't - click Start --> All Programs --> Accessories and right click Notepad and click Run as Administrator. File --> Open then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\PostgreSQL\8.3\data\ and make sure All Files (*.*) is selected - choose the pg_hba.conf file there. Open it, change md5 to trust, save it, and close it. Start --> All Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Stop Service, then Start --> All Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Start Service and see if that helps.
