no DB

Postby Big Owl » Fri Mar 11, 2011 2:03 pm

I have a mac computer and PT3 for Mac. Last week when I started up PT3 there were no stats available. the default data base showed up and was checked when I clicked on set active database. I tried playing some tables and PT worked but only had stats from that day. It also made a new database named PT3_2011_03_01_204728. 3/1/2011 is the date I played the hands.
when I reopened PT3 the new database is now checked and there is no sign of my old default DB. Also the stats in the new Db do not show up in the program any longer. I went in PGadmin and postgres and the old database is not listed in there so I couldn't find any way to restore it or fix the problem.

Have you been using PT3 partially in Parallels and partially not? Sometimes databases can be disconnected from PT3 - but PT3 will never delete them without your explicit direction and you should have been able to find them in PGAdmin. Do you have multiple PostgreSQL versions installed perhaps?

I have HEM running in VMware/windows. Never have used PT3 in there. I thought it wasn't worth the effort to fix this so I went back to using HEM.
While trying to figure out the problem I clicked on the new database 2011_03....in the set active database window. That is when I could no longer find any reference to the original default DB.

Set Active just tells PT3 to open that database now - it doesn't do anything else.

HEM does use PostgreSQL so it is possible that their installation did cause some confusion. If you create a support ticket for this issue we will investigate further and get this fixed for you.

It's not exactly the same because I don't have a Mac. More similar to the other thread. I'll submit a ticket.
