PT4 Runs very slow

Postby cundyno1 » Fri May 04, 2012 11:52 am

Hi

Been testing for a few days now and in general very pleased. However, it seems to be running very slow ie takes ages to load up or change between stat screens etc.
Also where is the hands feature where i can view all hands (AA,56o,89s etc) and see how much won/lost etc cant find it.

Thanks

What version of PT4 are you currently using, what version of PostgreSQL do you have installed, and how large is your database?

You can find the grouping by hole cards by choosing the Summary drop down on the left then setting Group By to Hole Cards (Holdem) (or Omaha). If you want to analyze ranges though you might want to take a look at the Holdem Hand Range Visualizer which is on the Statistics page.

I would like to ask what steps should be taken when I would like that my PT4 uses less processor?
My database increased and now PT4 is running much slower. This is however not so big problem. More important is that when I run it and I multitable sometimes other applications like TN not work well.
How can I decrease my database and not lose my data? Would it solve problem? Are there any other ways like decreasing HUD statistics or others?

The HUD was designed to use minimal amounts of processing.

Please reproduce this problem and send us the PokerTracker4.log file via our support system. You can find this file by clicking File --> Show User Data Folder in the main PT4 window. The file we need is the text file called PokerTracker4 that is in the window that pops up.

We do recommend updating to the latest version of PostgreSQL you are using - so in the 8.3 case you should be using 8.3.18 if possible. These particular updates (from 8.3.x to 8.3.y) are pretty painless - just download and run the installer from the PostgreSQL website.

After you've done that, please restart PT4 and if you are seeing slowdowns still, please send us your PokerTracker4.log via our support system so that we can investigate further for you.

What version of PostgreSQL are you trying to install?
That error suggests that you've tried to install a 64-bit version when your previous version was 32-bit, or vice versa, but 8.3 only has a 32-bit version so that shouldn't be an issue.
I guess it's possible that you've used the "opposite" type of installer to last time - 8.3 has both pgInstaller and one-click installer versions so if you tried one, try the other instead.
