Newest PAHUD version? and UB new update?...

Postby skillish » Wed May 07, 2008 10:20 am

Hey Josh,

With UB's newest update and "store HH's on hard drive feature" how do I change the path in preferences? It seems to be set at the default path and cannot be edited. Or should I just leave as is? But is there a way to change this? I tried changing paths in PT2 and HUD obv. couldn't see the HH's in UB's new C:\Documents\My Hand Histories "save on hard drive" feature.

Also, I now have PAHUD version 1.19.4 beta and notice a 1.19.6 version. I used to see a "check for updates" feature in HUD and now cannot. Did this change? And can I simply go right to the 1.19.6 version or o I have to go through 1.19.5 first?

I had to create a new account as everyone did when you and Pat integrated sites. My HUD still has my old and no longer accessible Email addresss. How do I change this in HUD? Or do I have to?

Sorry Josh, lots of changes, one more thing. How long will you and Pat be supporting PT2 and HUD as separate applications for those of us who haven't upgraded to PT3 yet where they are both integrated?

Thanks Josh! You guys are the best!

P.S. I agree with your stance on Cake Poker BTW!

Hello,

Even though UB is now storing your hands on the hard drive, they are not accessible until after you finish playing which makes them useless to PokerAce Hud. I do suggest importing these stored hand histories into PokerTracker at the end of every session to ensure that 100% of your hands are accurate.

The 'check for updates' is only for official releases and you are not notified of new beta's. You can directly upgrade to 1.19.6...

You do not need to update your registered PAHud email address although I suggest that you do. Please contact us via the Support system with your information.

Best regards,

Hey Derek,

I know that I don't HAVE to use UB's new "save HH's to hard drive" feature by simply not checking the box. But if I don't can I still use PT and PAHUD the way I always have during play?

Because if I chose to, then I know that I can't use PAHUD DURING play, which is obviously the only reason to use PAHUD with UB, which is exactly what you referenced in your previous response.

So what good is this if they cannot be imported into PT and are not recognized? None. Except for the review and data benefits.

Ultimately, this seems to be due to the un-editable (is that a word? lol) UB section under preferences in HUD.

Obviously this just came out from UB so there would have been no reason to have been able to edit the UB preference box earlier. But now that it is possible to save HH's to HD with UB will you guys consider including this feature in a future HUD upgrade?

Thanks for everything you do for us all!!!!

Thanks again!

You do not need to save your hand histories to the hard drive. You can continue to use PAH like you always have but there is no downside to saving them.

Since these files are locked, PokerTracker cannot import them while you are playing and PokerAce Hud cannot access them to see who is at the table, so you are right, they are only good for review. Pretty silly on UB's part IMHO. I would still recommend saving them and importing at the end of the session to ensure that your stats are 100% accurate.

No, I do not think you understood my previous post. You cannot read these files that UB is creating until after you close the table so they are worthless to real-time data such that PokerAce Hud provides. Even if you could change the directory to where UB is saving the hands, PokerAce Hud would not be able to read them because they are simply locked until you leave the table.

Ahhhhh,

They lock them during play??? How useless and ridiculous.

"You do not need to save your hand histories to the hard drive. You can continue to use PAH like you always have but there is no downside to saving them."

"Since these files are locked, PokerTracker cannot import them while I'm playing and PokerAce Hud cannot access them to see who is at the table, so you are right, they are only good for review. Pretty silly on UB's part IMHO. I would still recommend saving them and importing at the end of the session to ensure that your stats are 100% accurate."

Ok, but I can't do both at the same time right? I can't play, see the stats and import AND THEN import them using their new feature AFTER my play.
In other words it's one or the other right?

Because if that's the case then I'm changing nothing.

In a nutshell, as long as I don't click the "save to HD feature" from UB I can use PT and PAHUD WHILE I'm playing as I always have??? Right???

All I want to verify is that If I don't use this feature, nothing changes with PT2 and PAHUD and my settings I've always used right?

That's my real concern.

I mean PT saves the HH's in the DB anyway during live imports? right?

I apologize for all the questions and verifiaction of info Derek. But as you well know UB is a MAJOR pain in the u know what?!?! lol

I don't want to screw this up and UB has always been a pain in the you know what on HH's and I don't know why. It's preety fricken simple if you ask me.

No other site that I play at makes HH importing this difficult to do.

Thanks for all of your attention.

I just don't want to screw this up.

This should be it Derek!

Correct. I do not know why UB feels the need to be difficult... :(

Yes, you can still do both. Import the hands that PokerAce Hud creates while you are playing then at the end of the session import the hands that UB wrote to your hard drive. This way, if PokerAce Hud misses any hands, you catch them from the hands that UB is writing to your drive.
