Have you been backing up your database files? If not, go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder and see if you have 2 files there called ptrack_backup.mdb and hhcopy.mdb. Are they there?

From the Windows Explorer menu select the Tools option and then select Folder Options.

Click on the View tab.

UNCHECK the box that says "Hide extensions for known files types" and click the Apply button.

Now, with PT CLOSED - rename the file ptrack.mdb to ptrack_X.mdb and hhdb.mdb to hhdb_X.mdb

Then rename ptrack_backup.mdb to ptrack.mdb and hhcopy.mdb to hhdb.mdb

Then start PT again. These files would have been made prior to the last time you compacted your databases so some data may still be missing depending on how long ago you did the compact.

You didn't say you were using PostgreSQL. In this case, you shouldn't have lost anything because uninstalling PT would not have touched PostgreSQL.

What is the EXACT error you are getting here? There must be more to the message than this.

sry forgot 2 metion that. the error message is:

uanable 2 connect 2 pstgresql(port#:5432) to get the list of db's.the error was:
101- sqlstate=08001
fatal: role "posgres" does not exist

this is most likely due to the fact the db server isnt running on this port.make sure the db is runningor, if the port is no longer being used open the utilities>postgresql setting window and remove the entry 4 port #5432 so u dont continue 2 get these error messages.

Is the server running? Go to the Start menu and select Settings > Control Panel > Admin Tools Services.
Find PostgreSQL in the list. Does it say it's started? If not, try to start it.
