Very Slow Performance - Tips?

Postby khrndz1737 » Mon Oct 28, 2013 5:08 pm

Hi guys, I am getting very slow performance on my PT4 on Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.5. My database in 1834 MB in size. The slowness is twofold: 1) I have HUD set to appear upon hover over and it takes a long time of hovering before the stats show up, and 2) when PT4 is running, everything else on the computer is extremely slow (like trying to go into Safari). Immediately upon closing PT4, the 2nd issue is resolved. I have 3 GB RAM so didn't think that would be an issue. Looking for some tips on how to troubleshoot. Thanks in advance.

When you start Getting Hands While Playing do you see a lot of duplicates?

Do reports work quickly?
Are you using the 'lower opacity until mouse over' functionality in your Hud, or are you talking about clicking to activate popups?
If you use one of the built-in default Huds does that update quickly when a new hand is imported?

Reports work as quickly on my Mac as they do on my Windows laptop.

Yes, using the "lower opacity until mouse over".

I use a default HUD with some modifications. Yes, it quickly updates when a new hand is finished.

If you turn "Lower Opacity Until Mouseover" off does that fix the tooltip issue?
