PT4 Database

Postby lb88 » Fri Dec 06, 2013 7:38 am

Basically i have been playing poker on the mac but recently got software that don't run on mac i.e table ninja. So i have installed windows7 on the mac and use VMWare Fusion (same as parallels). Now i need to move my database over to windows. Im not very good when it comes to computers so what would be the best way to do that. Also i am going to uninstall PT4 from my mac and use my code for windows. Does this mean i still have one spare? I appreciate any help.

Many thanks,
Luke.

You can do it that way but you'll get better performance if you leave PostgreSQL on OS X and just connect to it from PT4 in your virtual machine. If you uninstall PT4 from the Mac side and install it in the VM it will only count as one use of your code (it's current uses, not lifetime uses).

The steps to configure your database are laid out in this guide. All you need to do is configure it like it's described there, and install PT4 in the VM and use the database. You can uninstall PT4 from OS X after everything is configured and working.

That file is in /Library/PostgreSQL/x.y/data/ -- you'll need to change the permissions as explained in the Special Note for OS X users, then you can edit the file. Make sure to change the permissions back when you're done or the server will stop working.

No, you don't need PostgreSQL in the VM with this configuration.

What's the IP address for your OS X machine and your VM? Can you paste the changes you made to pg_hba.conf here for me to see?
