My poker tracker failed to convert error message

Postby iapheth » Fri May 16, 2008 6:14 pm

I'm attempting to convert my database using Postgresql-8.2 which i installed with no problems. I thought I did create a short password using my own password. I'm still using the PTv2 hold'em. And I want to use postgresql database. I configure it properly as instructed on the PT forum. When I started the conversion it gave me the following error message ---
Convert Database
Convert to:
PostgreSQL _____________
- — A — ——‘ ..—— — —
Database Error
0 Error connecting to the defeuft PostgreSQL database:
101 - SQLSTATE 08001
FATAL: password authentication failed for user “postgress
This could be because you have.,.
1. Entered the wrong user name/password/server name/port.
2. Not started the PostgreSQL database server.
3. Not installed the PostgreSQL ODBC driver.

How do I go about correcting this problem? Please someone help. :D

Not sure if you have solved this yet or not, but try this:

1) press ctrl-alt-del. If you are in Vista, click on task manager. XP or Vista, now click on processes. Do you see at least one copy of postgresql.exe running? If so, then you have postgresql running. If not, then postgresql is not running. Go to start -> Programs -> Postgresql -> start service.

2) If the above doesn't solve the problem, then follow this tutorial for removing password requirements: Tutorial: How to remove password requirements in postgresql

Hope this helps.
